Metzger's Country Store ... is a family owned and operated business dedicated to serving the needs of horse and pet owners. With more than 7000 feet of retail space and a 5500 square foot warehouse, the business has expanded to what they now call a "country store and more". You'll find an enormous variety of pet foods, horse feed and supplies, wild bird needs, gifts for the pet lover, and in the spring and fall, the most beautiful flowers around. Services... You'll find our Mobile Tack Truck at Churchill Downs, Trackside, and Keeneland. It is fully stocked for trainers, jockeys and riders. If you would like us to come to your training facility, or would like more information, please contact Leigh Fowler, track manager @ (502) 544-3637. Do you have questions about your horse's nutritional needs? Are you feeding the right feed in the right amount? We will be glad to send an Equine Nutritionist to visit you at your farm. An evaluation of your horse's weight, production level, age and health will help answer all of your questions, free of charge. Call for an appointment. On the first Friday of each month, we offer blade sharpening. Bring in your dull clipper blades, scissors, grass shears, lawn mower blades or anything that needs sharpening. Drop off your blades at anytime and pick up at your convenience. Did you know that Metzger's can take care of all your horse laundry needs? Bring in your dirty blankets, sheets, saddle pads, towels, dog beds, etc. for some gentle, deep cleaning. We offer waterproofing, special fragrance and repair work for an additional charge. Full Load (equivalent of 2 full size winter blankets) - $15.00 1/2 Load - $7.50 Hang Dry - $2.00/item Waterproofing - $10.00 Specialty Items - determined at register Looking for a new pet? We are currently working with Woodstock Animal Foundation, Shelby County Humane Society and Shelby County Animal Foundation to find homes for many little friends. Visit our Pet Adoption Center here in our store. Your new best friend could be waiting for you! Adoption fees include spay/neuter, shots, worming and micro-chipping.
