Metzger's Country Store is a family-owned and operated business, dedicated to serving the needs of horse and pet owners.  In 2000, brothers Charlie and Gary Metzger opened a small feed store in nearby Eastwood and spent 2 1/2 years selling mainly horse feed out of their 600 square foot space.  When it came time to expand, Charlie's wife Sue and Gary's wife and son, Diana and Mike, joined the business which now has its home in Simpsonville, Kentucky. 

With more than 7000 feet of retail space and a 5500 square foot warehouse, the business has expanded to what they now call "a country store and more."

You'll find an enormous variety of pet foods, horse feed and supplies, wild bird needs, gifts for the pet and pet lover, and in the spring the most beautiful flowers around. 

For pets, we carry more than 400 varieties of pet food including Exclusive, Iams,Eukanuba, Science Diet, Purina, Merrick, Eagle Pack, Wellness, Innova, Fromm Family, Natural Balance, Solid Gold, Nutro, Diamond, Primal Raw, Bravo Raw, Pro Plan, PMI, Country Value and Sport Mix. Our holistic line of food is growing to offer variety to those who wish to feed "all natural" food. If you don't see something you need, let us know. We'll be glad to order it for you.

For riders, we have everything you need to outfit you, your horse and your trailer. Whether you ride english, western or bareback, we've got you covered.  We carry saddles from Big Horn, Abetta and Hi-Horse (the new line from Circle Y), a variety of bits from Myler and Toklat, and have an extensive trail riding department.

Love to feed the birds?  You'll find a full selection of bird houses, feeders and as many varieties of seed you could ever imagine.
