About Us

In 2000, brothers Charlie and Gary Metzger opened a small
feed store in nearby Eastwood and spent 2 1/2 years selling
mainly horse feed out of their 600 square foot space.  When
it came time to expand, Charlie's wife Sue and Gary's wife
and son Diana and Mike, joined the business which now
has its home in Simpsonville, Kentucky.  Metzger's Country
Store is dedicated to serving the needs of horse and pet
owners. Whether you have one horse or 100, show dogs or
rescues, chickens or llamas, (you get the picture) we're
here to help. Please stop by for a visit and a cup of coffee or
hot chocolate and some cookies!

In 2008, the addition of our Pet Adoption Center was
completed. We work with Woodstock Animal Foundation to
help find homes for many pets. Come see if your next best

Here at Metzger's we try to keep our customers up to date
and informed about their animal's health. We schedule
seminars  that allow you to learn more about various
topics that affect your horses and pets, feeding the birds
and stocking your pond. We also plan fairs throughout the
year that allow you to meet and talk with vendors about
